Cody has always been one of my favorites. But wait, do I say that about all the horses?
So yesterday we didn't actually ride because of the crusty ice on the trail and the icy ice on the road. Sunday then, I went to the ring. Bill had plowed a ring in the ring and so Lilly and I were able to walk and trot around what looked like a big white donut. I also cut a path through the center just by walking through it, so we could dash across the middle. Here we are in that path. I was trying to get our shadows in this picture...but the photo does not look as dramatic and as interesting as I thought it might. What was funny about trotting through this little path was that Lilly would go through it in a fully extnded trot...which I have never experienced before. It was awesome! It felt like the long, comfortable strides of a giant. It was so fabulous that I made her do it over and over. And each time I would laugh because it was so much fun.
Bill was down in the ring for a only few minutes when I first got there. He snapped this picture of me which showcases my pink bobblehead. I couldn't smile for too long because my teeth would freeze. I was just glad it wasn't as windy in the ring as it had been up at the barn. Lilly and I practiced the side pass over and over. It was so quiet and peaceful, I thought it would be a good time to focus and get it right. Also, I could have Lilly face a big snow pile so she couldn't go forward even if she wanted to. (and she wanted to)
Considering Lilly was in the ring which she does not like, and was there without the company of other horses, I thought she was terrific. What a delightful brumby.
It must be hard to be working in the ring when this is what all your buddies are doing.
I hope the temps get better for next weekend!

You are very brave! Good for you and Bill spending fun time with your sweet horses. I really like your shadow photo. Lilly is a good girl to extend her trot for you...it must be difficult going through the deep snow...but you know that...you made the path!!!!
I like your pink tea cozy cover. It looks good.
Who is that horse in the front of the group? He sure is fuzzy!
I don't know how you do it, being out in that cold! Actually I can't really talk because I work in it! But it's not as cold as it is there! And we don't usually get that much snow either!
I think the shadow picture turned out good!
Dont you love that floaty trot they do thru the snow! It's so beautiful and fun to ride :)
And I love knowing even if I fell (why do I think of that???) I would land in a pillow puff of snow!
Glad to see u and Lilly are enjoying the Brrrr!
