Forget Me Not

Sunday, February 21, 2010

Well, I hope Lilly did not miss me too much today. Because I wasn't feeling energetic enough to go and ride her. You see, last night I ate too much chorizo. Have you ever had it? It is yummy, especially when gobbled up with the kind of cheese that is pure fat. But today my stomach was not so happy with me. In my fretful-stomach state, I didn't feel like dealing with the cold weather. I am sick of the cold!
So today I spent most of the day in a bubble bath reading. I had the whole house to myself which is rare. No husband, no kids screaming, just me and Getty...and a few of the other creatures. Like The Gee who is pictured here. I uploaded these photos all wrong so they might seem askew in this post. Sorry about that! Blame the Chorizo!
I have also put in a picture of the next bit I am going to try. It can be used with double reins! I want to try that. I know that curb chain looks a little scary. I'll probably replace it with an ordinary strap. Once this bit is made all spiffy, I'll try it out and see how Lilly likes it.

The last picture is one of my Valentine's Day present from Brandon. Isn't it nice of a non-horse person to get me horse jewelry? Actually, last night Brandon said he wants to try riding again. He figures if he can zoom down a mountain on skis at breakneck speed, he should be able to handle a trail ride. Ummm, seeing will be believing! I'll keep you posted!

Are you trying out bits just because or are you addressing a specific issue with Lilly? She's your horse and you can do whatever, but I'm just curious.

Lovely jewelry, by the way.

OK, the pic of the chorizo kinda made me want to vomit (do you know how they make sausage?!! Bleeeecccch!), but the bunny pic made up for it.
Yep. Chorizo = Barf
Bunny = Fuzzy Cuteness
I have to echo Sprinkler on the bit thing. Also, are you measuring the bits to make sure they fit the brumby? And, um, isn't that bit upside-down? The port is supposed to go up into the horse's palate.

Hi Frizzle, yeah that bit is upside down but it's only on the couch after all, not in my brumby's mouth! I am trying different bits lately because I realized I was only using a snaffle and poo-pooing all the others without really knowing why. So I am just experimenting and getting experience with this kind. Don't worry, I make sure they fit her.
Sorry the chorizo made you want to vomit!

Sorry, hope that didn't come across as snarky or superior! I know you have your brumby's best interest at heart. I was just wondering what prompted the bit experimenting extravaganza. :-)

Oh Frizzle, of course not! As I experiment, I always like to hear what other people are thinking because I might learn something from it. I like to try new things once in a while! Hey! Is that the chorizo working on my psyche? How about a bit made out of chorizo? Eeewww, I don't think Lilly would like that at all!
