Having a merry little....

Monday, December 24, 2012

So it may appear that I have lost interest in blogging, given that my last post was something like three weeks ago. But things are not as they sometimes seem! First I went to Illinois. My dad insisted he was moving to Florida and was having one final Christmas in his house there.

Yes, that's him, my dad! So I zoomed to Illinois for the final celebration. As it turns out, he's not really moving to Florida full time after all. He and his wife bought a house there and will be doing half and half. So this kitchen I thought I'd never see again...I will probably be seeing a hundred more times.

This is my dad's wife. With a camera, of course!

Wile visiting Illinois, we went to a Festival of Lights. This whale was huge and awesome.

As soon as I returned from Illinois, I was sick for 4 straight days with flu-ish symptoms. I was miserable. But then on Saturday, I felt good enough to go see my brumby. I felt I hadn't seen her in so long! I knew that if only I could hug and smell her, I'd feel better. So yesterday, in between coughing fits, I climbed on her for a ride.

I'm pretty sure that my brumby couldn't have cared less that with every step she took I coughed like it was my last breath. She was too busy sniffing leaves and gobbling ferns to even notice. But I felt bad anyway. We all know how annoying a cough-er can be.

It was very cold out. I had my puffy pink pants on and my pink jacket. But with the right gear, anything is possible. My brumby did not seem cold at all. But her feet seemed ouchie. So I put her Cavallos on her.

Sunday (which is today) I got a late start due to some last minute changes to my gift roster. It meant I didn't get to the barn until 130. That's late for these short days, especially since Bill's land is on the dark side of a mountain.

Look what Bill got for Christmas!

I groomed my  brumby and gave her a nice mixture of apples and carrots. I cleaned all of her feet and checked for scratches on her rear feet. She was super snuggly. I love how she is so wooly and thick that she looks like a prehistoric horse. Oh, brumby, you are so beautiful always!!

Tomorrow is Christmas! YEAY!!

Merry Christmas Colleen--I think I had the same cold--TWICE! Yup, still coughing here too, but I think visiting the horses always makes you feel better. Hope you're on the mend.

That whale! It's fantastic! And I love that last ornament. It's aaaalmost as cute as your Lilly.

Hope you're feeling better now— and if not now, then soon!
